We went to Disney on Ice on Thursday, which both boys really enjoyed, watching the carachters open mouthed. Altough as a parent I can not fail to notice that the whole thing was based around "how to peel another skin off the parents". 9£ for slush puppy? 4£ for popcorn? 14£ for a lightening thingy?
Plus everyone was sure that there will be something "Frozen" themed (there was at least one girl dressed as Elza on every square meter), but there wasn't anything because there will be a special "Frozen on ice" over the spring holidays. I am sure just to rob more parents off...
On Friday we went to Tamworth castle for Halloween. Took a bit of persuading Benji to dress up. (of course he didn't want to), he said he would like to be Incredible Hulk, so when I saw this green Frankenstein costume half price at Matalan I was glad he had no problem beleiving it is Hulk.. :)
They (and me) made our first pumpkin lanters as well in the castle.
On Saturday we went to Elford for Bonfire night and Fireworks, which was lovely. A lovely village, with hog roast, bbq, bar, very small, child friendly, nice bonfire, nice fireworks, well-organised. Last year Tamworth fireworks was nice as well, but they were so scared of the loud bangs, that we had to escape back home. This year only Robin was afraid. Hopefully next year we can all enjoy it.
After all these activities I was a bit scared that Robin will not want to go back to school, but he surprised me that he was waiting to go, and he even said that he won't cry at PE anymore, he will do the "draded" mouse race and the bean bag balancing.
At the weekend he spellt and wrote "MAMI" (mum in hungarian) and "PEN" on his own. I was really impressed. He can also read very simple sentences very slowly.
Robin also impressed me by peeing in toilet twice yesterday, he wanted to go on his own, went and clapped himself.
Two big boys!
